Supporting Big Feelings and Tricky Behaviours – Co-regulation and practical behaviour support for early childhood settings

Monday 30th March

6.00 – 7.30pm

Designed for busy educators – simple, effective strategies – no extra workload.

This webinar introduces the Sparky and Shady positive behaviour approach to supporting children with big feelings and tricky behaviours.

Kathy will share real-life examples from early childhood environments and demonstrate how the Sparky and Shady framework helps children develop self-regulation and strengthen their sense of agency.

Participants will explore why behaviour happens, discuss common behaviour scenarios, and see how the shared language of Sparky and Shady supports calm, consistent and intentional teaching from educators.

Educators will also be shown how to share these practical strategies with families.

Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS), this session introduces practical behaviour guidance strategies educators can adapt and use now, or implement fully through the Sparky and Shady wellbeing program.

Participants will receive an EYLF and NQS alignment handout in the webinar.

On registration, participants will receive a full Sparky and Shady lesson — a quick, easy way to see how engaging and accessible the approach is for children.
